Johnny Dynell is New York City nightlife royalty. Starting out at the Mudd Club, he became deeply immersed in the inimitable downtown nightlife scene of the late 70's and 80's. Spinning everywhere from Danceteria to The Pyramid, from Area to The Tunnel, he went on to become an iconic DJ, songwriter, record producer, and nightlife promoter. His 1983 single "Jam Hot" has become a cult classic. In 1990, along with his renowned wife Chi Chi Valenti and others, he created one of the most unique and vibrant nights in the city - Jackie 60 - which eventually became the beloved nightclub Mother.
